Injustice 2 is a melee combat fighting game set in the DC universe, produced by NetherRealm Studios and published by Warner Bros. Games.
Its main story involves an alien villain named Brainiac, a super-intelligent being who invades universes to collect them, and now it's Earth's turn.
The game features two worldviews: Batman's and Superman's, and it's up to you to decide which is more correct. In this review, I will cover some main topics about the game.
How is the gameplay in Injustice 2?
Injustice 2 has a combat system similar to other NetherRealm games, standing out mainly in its "supers," which are highly creative and characteristic of each character.
Is the combat system accessible for beginners and challenging for veterans?
The game includes a tutorial at the beginning to teach you the basics, giving you an overview of the game's combat mode.
What are the main differences between the characters in terms of abilities and fighting styles?
In Injustice 2, there are various character types, distinguished by their fighting styles. The game includes characters who are larger but heavier and slower, like Gorilla Grodd, others who use firearms for long-range combat, like Red Hood and Deadshot. There are also characters who use powers and can fly, such as Firestorm, Superman, and Wonder Woman.
How are the game's graphics? Are the character models and environments detailed and well-animated?
With an intermediate-level computer, you will be able to run the game without problems, perhaps even at maximum quality, depending on your configuration.
The cutscenes are very well crafted graphically, especially the effects in scenes featuring Firestorm, where the amount of detail in the graphical particles is visible. Regarding the character models, they are all very faithful to their original works.

Are the character voiceovers well done and consistent with their personalities?
Yes, definitely. This is one of the points I would like to highlight: the English voice acting is sensational, with fantastic lip-syncing and the emotions conveyed by the voice actors are amazing.
Is the story mode engaging and well-written?
The game's narrative places a strong emphasis on the characters' morality, on doing what is right or wrong. Many times, I questioned whether a particular action by character X or Y was correct or not, and I believe this was a spot-on point by the developers.
As for the main story, I don't have much to question since I am a big DC fan, which probably influenced my view of the game.
Is the story faithful to the comics and the DC universe?
I can't speak for the comics since there are some characters I haven't read or known, but regarding the DC universe, I can say for sure that most of the characters I know stayed true to their original materials.
Does the base game offer enough content to justify the price?
The base game is currently priced at $19.99 on PC/Steam, and you can find it on sale for $5.99. Paying the base price just to play the campaign, which lasts around 6-7 hours, is not worth it.
However, if you play with friends, enjoy multiplayer, or explore other modes the game offers, then it is worth the price. But of course, if you can get the game at a discount, even better.
Do the DLCs add significant value to the game?
The DLCs mainly offer extra characters to play with, such as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Starfire, and Hellboy.
In the campaign, they won't make much difference, but if you want to play 1v1 or multiplayer, it might be interesting to get the legendary version of the game, which includes all the DLCs.
How is the multiplayer experience?
In the PC/Steam version I played, it asked for a quick performance test to ensure the match would be smooth for me.
Regarding match wait times, on July 21, 2024, it took me about 3 minutes and 40 seconds to find a match, and the experience wasn't very smooth.
I tried finding another opponent and ended up with the same one. According to SteamDB, on July 21, 2024, there were 585 people playing.
If you want to play with a friend, the best thing to do, if you're playing on PC/Steam, is to use Steam's Remote Play Together feature, where only one person needs to buy the game and can invite their friend, simulating a local game but with each person in their own home.
Note: Check the connection requirements on the Steam website for a pleasant experience.
What customization options are available for the characters?
Each character has their own progression system, where you can equip better armor as you level up. To get better armor, you need to level up and earn "Mother Boxes" to get items and equip them on your characters.
Where can I buy the game?
