Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two is a platformer developed by Junction Point and published by Disney where you take on the roles of Mickey and Oswald, who need to defeat the Mad Doctor and put an end to his evil plans. In this review, I will cover some of the main aspects of the game.

What is the main story of the game?

The game takes place in Wasteland, a realm inhabited by forgotten Disney characters. An earthquake occurs, and it is up to the main characters, Mickey and Oswald, to investigate what happened.

They discover that an enemy disguised as an ally to deceive them, and they need to defeat him.

How is the gameplay mechanics? Is it intuitive and easy to learn?

Mickey and Oswald each have unique abilities. Mickey has a paintbrush that can build and destroy items, objects, and enemies. Oswald has a remote control that interacts with electronic devices to access certain areas and large ears that allow him to glide.

Is the game cooperative? If so, how does player collaboration work?

In the PC/Steam version, the game does not have a split-screen mode, so local cooperative play is not available on this version. However, in the console versions, it is possible to play cooperatively.

Is the visual design attractive and well-crafted?

The game features a cartoonish visual style that harks back to old films and animated shows. The game’s environments are quite distinctive with their references.

Is the soundtrack engaging and complementary to the gameplay experience?

The soundtrack did not appeal to me much; it seemed to have a more generic feel, so to speak. I recommend playing the game to form your own opinion.

How is the overall stability of the game?

It is quite stable, and you are unlikely to get stuck due to game bugs. The only issue I encountered was when Oswald failed to perform his task, but after several attempts, I managed to progress through the level.

My recommendation is to wait for him to reach the location and perform his function if you are playing alone on the PC version.

Are there adjustable difficulties to suit different skill levels?

There are no difficulty levels that can be chosen by the player. However, some puzzles are more challenging, requiring the player to think a bit more to advance.

Are there replay elements, such as side missions or unlockables?

The game features several side missions, and the collectibles are in the form of pins, which are characteristic of Mickey’s ears.

Does the game offer enough content to justify its cost?

I believe so. Despite the issue with Oswald bugging in certain parts, as mentioned earlier, the game itself provides a lot of fun in defeating enemies and bosses.

Conclusion.

Epic Mickey 2 is certainly an enjoyable game that stays true to the look and feel of classic animated shows. In terms of gameplay, I can say that the combat mechanics are quite simple with not much difference.

However, the game compensates with its creativity and secret areas that you can find just by using the green paintbrush.

If you are a big fan of Disney and Mickey, this game is definitely worth it. But if you're not a Disney enthusiast and just want to complete a game, I recommend doing a bit more research on it.
